The Strategy team at Hyphen Group exists with a dual purpose: to help oversee and guide overall firm strategy, in order to ensure that ongoing prioritization of resources happens effectively and also to provide structure, analysis and insights that can support and build on our largest client relationships with financial services firms. 

The role exists to support the growth of Hyphen Group by working at the group level as an internal consultant across all markets, advising and supporting internal initiatives related to all aspects of strategy and working in cross functional capacity together with leaders from other functional areas. As a generalist, therefore, this role cuts across all functional areas, including commercial strategy, organizational and general corporate strategy, and also feeds into critical decisions that are made on marketing, product / platform and technology strategy.

You will be working collaboratively with leaders across our businesses to identify strategic market opportunities, design research approaches and information systems, generate practical and timely insights to help grow the organization, as well as contribute to the creation of new value propositions. You will also be involved in strategic transactions as Hyphen Group continues to grow and consolidate its market leadership position.

Who may have access to personal data?

Your information will be shared internally within the Group for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes with members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy, internal and external auditors and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.

Your personal data will be shared with Greenhouse Software, Inc., a cloud services provider located in the United States of America and engaged by Hyphen Group to help manage its recruitment and hiring process on Hyphen Group’s behalf.

Hyphen Group may share your personal data with third parties in order to, obtain pre-employment references from other employers, obtain employment background checks from third party providers and to obtain necessary criminal record checks.

How long do we hold your personal data?

Your personal data will be retained by the Group for so long as the Group determines it is reasonably necessary to evaluate your application for employment. If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment in accordance with the contract of employment and our internal privacy policy.

What if you do not supply your personal data?

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to the us during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, we may not be able to process your application properly or at all.

What we are looking for:

  • A highly analytical thinker that is able to look at any business situation and quickly determine the underlying drivers and how impactful they are.
  • Strong quantitative abilities coupled with the potential to tell an effective story around the numbers.
  • Experience working in cross functional teams and driving complex engagements where a significant degree of analysis and planning needs to be done.
  • 6-7 years of top tier professional experience, ideally in (but does not need to be limited to) in-house strategy, investment banking, investment management or management consulting or in a functional / management role. Experience of running your own startup or business and taking it to significant revenue generation will be looked upon favourably.
  • Experience of working in digital businesses or in the financial services industry or on financial services related projects is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of managing complexity through the creation of effective information and management systems that have been proven to lead to increased productivity and consistently better decision making.
  • A strong ability to be a coach when required but at the same time, a willingness to get your hands dirty and a passion for getting the details right. A proven ability to be a ‘trusted advisor’ to management.
  • A global mindset and an ability to think broadly across different markets and socio-economic contexts.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, uncertainty and retaining flexibility whilst bringing structure to various processes and cadences.
