In this role, you will act as the corporate communications lead of the organisation. You will be responsible for defining the overall corporate communications strategy for Hyphen Group and bringing it to life amongst internal and external stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across functions and markets including brand, commercial, technology, corporate development and C-level management.  

Our ideal candidate is comfortable shifting between developing high-level strategy, helping your team grow and getting things done. We are looking for an individual who possesses hands-on experience in corporate communications and PR as well as strong business acumen, communication skills, analytical ability and leadership experience.

Who may have access to personal data?

Your information will be shared internally within the Group for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes with members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy, internal and external auditors and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.

Your personal data will be shared with Greenhouse Software, Inc., a cloud services provider located in the United States of America and engaged by Hyphen Group to help manage its recruitment and hiring process on Hyphen Group’s behalf.

Hyphen Group may share your personal data with third parties in order to, obtain pre-employment references from other employers, obtain employment background checks from third party providers and to obtain necessary criminal record checks.

How long do we hold your personal data?

Your personal data will be retained by the Group for so long as the Group determines it is reasonably necessary to evaluate your application for employment. If your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment in accordance with the contract of employment and our internal privacy policy.

What if you do not supply your personal data?

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide data to the us during the recruitment process. However, if you do not provide the information, we may not be able to process your application properly or at all.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and develop the corporate communications strategy for the Group and its portfolio companies
  • Formulate and review relevant communication policies and guidelines for the Group
  • Drive external relationships and corporate reputation for the company; further develop and advance Hyphen Group’s corporate reputation among external stakeholders in the region - including media, industry, governments
  • Manage all activities relating to corporate communications, both internal and external, across all channels (e.g. corporate website, social media, earned media,...)
  • Plan, coordinate and implement media activities to support the business growth of the Group; handle all matters arising from the media relations and review replies prepared by business units
  • Act as corporate spokesperson and respond to members of the media in a timely manner; compose and distribute press releases as needed.
  • Perform issues and crisis management and handle customer complaints referred by media or addressed to the management
  • Own the development and roll-out of standardised reporting frameworks 
  • Collaborate with other departments and portfolio companies to strengthen the corporate image and brand-building of Hyphen Group in the market as well as in the community
  • Partner with the People Team to drive internal communications related to our company, purpose and brand portfolio to ensure all employees in the region understand our strategy and their role in our success
  • Draft talking points, correspondence, statements, position papers, testimony, and presentations for external communications relating to corporate affairs for the region 
  • Monitor emerging regulations, legislation, and political activity in the region at the country level
  • Active representation of Hyphen Group at industry associations level, including helping shape strategy at the industry level that will assist in supporting Hyphen Group’s business interests

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of corporate communications and PR experience; including hands-on professional writing and visual content development
  • 5+ years of managing a team of content writers, designers and working with stakeholders across markets and functions
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills across a wide range of owned and earned media channels
  • Experience developing content in the personal finance industry or at a technology company
  • Hands-on experience with the public relations distribution process and strong media relationships 
  • Exceptional analytical skills and loves using data to tell stories
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work under tight timelines
  • Self-starter who thrives in an ambiguous, fast-paced, results-oriented startup environment - will go the extra mile without being asked
  • Strong project management skills and enjoys managing multiple, complex projects and creating processes and systems to improve efficiencies within an organisation
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills; comfortable and effective in communicating business ideas and strategy to C-level management
  • Enthusiastic leader and collaborator and enjoys working with and learning from people of different backgrounds and cultures
  • Passion about fintech and technology
  • Fluent in English
